The Mazda CX-9 is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured since April 2006 by Mazda in Japan, at its Ujina #1 establish in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Despite being built in Japan, the CX-9 is non sold in Japan's domestic market, as it exceeds a major threshold in the Japanese dimension and engine displacement regulations which obligates a big annual road revenue enhancement bill.[one] Instead, the shorter and narrower Mazda CX-8 is sold in the Japanese market.

For the model of 2010, the Mazda CX-9 received a pocket-sized facelift and consisting of a new front fascia. Three zone climate control and a Bluetooth hands free interface were now standard features.

The new exterior pattern follows Mazda'south Kodo blueprint philosophy. It is shorter than before, but rides on a longer wheelbase, resulting in shorter front end and rear overhangs. Weight is also downwards 90 kg (198 lb) in the FWD versions and by 130 kg (287 lb) in AWD versions.
Mazda added many new active safe systems on the new CX-ix. These include the Bullheaded Spot Monitoring, Radar Cruise Control with a Cease/Get-go role, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Alarm, High Beam Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking (low & loftier speed).
All models come standard with Democratic Emergency Braking (low speed) and Blind Spot Monitoring (in most markets).

In 2008, the first generation Mazda CX-nine was awarded Motor Trend SUV of the Year. Likewise, it was selected for the Due north American Truck of the Year Laurels in 2008.
In Australia, the 2nd generation Mazda CX-9 was awarded the 2017 Wheels Car of the Year.
Car and Driver named the CX-ix the best midsize SUV in its almanac x Best Trucks and SUVs for 2017 and 2018.[3] [4]
The CX-nine was also a finalist for the 2017 World Auto of the Year Honour.
In 2017, the 2nd generation Mazda CX-9 was awarded the outset e'er IIHS Top Condom Pick+ Award.[5]
